How To Make the Ghosts In the Graveyard Recipe

The classic ghosts in the graveyard recipe is fun as well as easy to make. Be sure to get the kids or grand kids involved in this one. It will be sure to bring smiles to everyone’s faces this Halloween! This recipe is as much fun to make as it is to eat.

Basic Recipe For Ghosts In the Graveyard:

You will need the following items from your kitchen:

  • Large Bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • 1-Gallon Size Zip-Lock Bag
  • Wire Whisk
  • Large Spoon or Spoonula
  • Small Spoon
  • 13×9 Inch Baking Dish

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups of Cold Milk
  • 2 Packages of Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • About 15 Oreo-style Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 Tub of Thawed Whipped Topping
  • 3 Cameo Cream Cookies
  • 1 Tube of Red Decorating Gel
  • 1 Tube of Chocolate Decorating Gel
  • 1 Tube of White Decorating Gel
  • Candy Pumpkins
  • Candy Corn
  • Other Miscellaneous Decorations such as mini M&M’s or mini chocolate chips or Red Hots for ghost eyes
Instructions:
Mix milk and instant pudding together in bowl with the wire whisk until it is well blended. Let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in 3 cups of the thawed whipped topping with the large spoon. Crush the Oreo sandwich cookies in a zip-lock bag with a rolling pin. Stir in half of the crushed Oreo cookies into the pudding mixture. Spread the mixture evenly into your baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining Oreo cookie crumbs over the top. Put the baking pan in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Decorate the 3 Cameo Cream cookies with the decorating gel to make them look like tombstones. Let stand for a few minutes until the gel sets.Insert the cookies into the pudding. Use the small spoon to make small ghosts in the graveyard with the remaining whipped topping. Place the candy corn and pumpkins on the top to finish it off.
Just use your imagination and you will come up with other decorating ideas for your ghosts in the graveyard recipe. Use black licorice sticks cut in pieces for fence posts with a black licorice whip running between them for the fence boards. Cut the licorice sticks so they have spikes on top, and you will have an instant wrought iron fence!
