Halloween Songs: A List Of Those I Remember

Everyone can usually think of a song or two that they can relate to Halloween. Here is a list, with corresponding videos (where available) that I have been able to dredge up from the depths of my aging computer brain. They are listed in no particular order. I do hope you enjoy them!

Halloween Song List:

Monster Mash, performed by Bobby (Boris) Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers, is perhaps the first one that comes to people’s minds when they think of a Halloween song. It first hit the top of the Billboard charts in 1962. Wow-it’s been that long? Really?

Enjoy the “Monster Mash”

Spooky, The Classic IV, performed this hit in October 1967. I still, to this day, remember hearing it for the first time on American Bandstand. This song was also featured on the HBO series Six Feet Under, soundtrack.

Witchy Woman: The Eagles performed this song back in 1972. Beware of those sparks flying from her fingertips!

That Old Black Magic: Written by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Johnny Mercer in 1942. This song has been performed by many people over the years.

Here is the late, great Frank Sinatra’s version of That Old Black Magic:

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered: A popular song and show tune from the 1940 musical, Pal Joey, by Rogers and Hart. This song has been covered by many performers over the years.

Don’t Fear The Reaper: Performed by Blue Oyster Cult, in 1976, this song was also featured in the original movie, Halloween. It has always been one of my personal favorites!
